About

Founded in 2020 by a landlocked surfer in Austin, Texas, Manana is a purveyor of water goods and travel things. We sell premium boards for waves of all varieties, and apparel for the roads that lead to them.

What follows is a brief video introduction to our origin story, values, and boards.

Alec's Story

A random act of generosity first placed Alec Cameron on a surfboard. No instruction, no rules, just a board and an offer to give it a try. Alec's journey in surf and wake has been like this-nobody to show him the dos or learn him the don'ts.

Most of Alec's childhood was spent in the water, but far from the ocean. He could wakesurf in Austiin, TX, but reaching ocean waves required Alec to travel. He did, early and often.

His travels gave Alec a fresh way of looking at life. Embracing passion. Devotion to craft. Never being in a rush. And a new desire: to build a new kind of board. One that performs at sea aand endures on land.

Alec taught himself the art of shaping, designing, and customizing boards by hand. Years of trial and error, experiments failed and tests passed, produced the Manana boards. Durable and light, flexible and strong.

Alec still travels when he can, seeking new experiences, better materials, and unique methods. His mission is to spread the sport and spirit of surf to as many people as possible, and in that way recreate the generosity that placed him on his first wave.
